Here's some important dates to mark on your calendar

1.  A "not guilty" plea  must be entered within 30 days from the date your ticket is issued. Simply write not guilty on the back of your ticket, sign it and send it in

2. If you forget to mark you calendar and 30 days expires, you still have approximately 100 days to enter your not guilty plea. Penalties will be assessed by the judge, if you lose your fight

3. If your dog eats your post-its, and you don't enter a not guilty plea within approximately 100 days from the date your ticket is issued,  a judgement will be entered against you for fines and additional penalties. You risk having your car impounded.

4. You can still fight your parking ticket. But, you must request and complete a Request for Hearing after Judgment Form from the NYC Finance Department. Make sure you have a good reason for waiting so long. You risk incurring additional fines and penalties
